Hello folks. My name is Brian and I've recently acquired a 1979 Spider 2000 from my late great uncle. It's yellow with a black rag top, automatic transmission and fuel injection. I'm just about to finish the brakes and it's onto the motor which may or may not run. Electronics have been hacked a bit mainly for old after market speakers and sound system which has since been removed as well. Looking for insights related to this motor! Located in Cincinnati, OH.

Brian,
The 79 didn't come with fuel injection. If it has it, someone's been doing some swapping. Fuel injection was on some 80's and all after 1980.

Brian, is your car by chance a California car? My understanding is that fuel injection was introduced first in California in late 1979, and then to the other 49 states in 1980.
