Hello, I made this custom aluminum cold air box from 3/16" thick aluminum sheet that I had laying around. First I made a mock up out of cardboard, taped it together then once I was satisfied I flattened it out and cut the pieces from aluminum. You can see the various folds and hammer marks, and few solder blobs. I used aluminum angle bar for base from home depot. Additionally a 1/4" thick plate for the box to AFM. Since I don't have a gas welder I used low temp aluminum solder sticks from harbor freight. Just tinkering and a we bit or creativity. Oh I used yellow bottle gas still have to clean up but it works great.
Enjoy!.

-Bryan, Not too difficult once you get the hang of it. Key is parts have to be really clean. One has to spread the heat around as the stick starts to melt. What I like is that once it melts and cools the joint can be filed and sanded to look great, I used a dremel. Down side is too much heat one can melt the items being soldered. Like anything else it take practice to get the hang of it.

So far the joints are OK. I did a water test. I also painted transparent fllex seal in the interior to be sure.
Next project will be a radiator over flow tank. Gonna embed a glass window or glass tube to see level.
