Just a thought?....fastback Spider?
Just a thought?....fastback Spider?
First I want to say that I am back on guys and gals...still have my Spider...it's good to be back with such a great group of good people.
Now I was driving my car home, I had another ideal...you might remember me talking about building a carson top for my fiat...while I had another brain storm...I am a fabricator by hobby and love to build stuff that no one else has...I would love to hear about any input for the ideal.
My ideal would be to actually make the Spider look as if it was a fastback from the factory...It would take that line that goes from behind the top to the trunk and cover it up...I even had a vision with shortening the rear of the car for a better look...the Spider is a great body style, not dog 'n it but would look even better with less over hang...part of the conversion would be to remove the trunk and permanently attach the new fastback look and have a smaller rear hatch with a window to access the trunk area...kinda like the back of an early 240 Z has but with a smaller window...my other design would be similar but would look more like the Ferrari with a skinny long narrow window and upright under the roof line...if any of these 2 designs sound like something you would like to do with your next project let me know...I am curious as to which one would look the best and if I should incorporate a small spoiler or not...wings are out, no rice look for me and it doesn't fit the era...if anyone has photoshop experience, I would love to see some pics...I don't usually draw my work before building, I just start building because it's hard for me to get my thoughts on paper...I'm more 3 dimensional builder guy...any thoughts on the ideal would be good input...once I have built the mold I could possibly build more if anyone would be interested...no hopper gun fiberglass here, only hand laid with care and better strength... my new job will keep me on the road a lot, but I should have something with in the next 2 years or so...let me know what your thoughts are
Thanks for read 'n

Re: Just a thought?....fastback Spider?
Those are some great pics stefhahn ...I like the lines of the 850 sport coupe very much but not so much those huge rear quarter windows...I'm sure it had something to do with safety...I have never seen an 850 SC here in CA...those must have not been allowed here in our CA

or you could just buy an MGB GT. Yeah, I said it, MG. At least it was designed by Pininfarina!

My worst nightmares have not frightened me as much as that picture. Where's the threat of lifetime ban when you need it?

Food for thought?
A little bit of Tucker, a little bit of Morgan Aero 8, a lot of 124 spider and look what you get
