Fuel troubles

1980 2000 FI. Seems like it is starving for fuel and died after a short run down the road. Waited a while to restart. Tried to fire but would not. Next step was to tow but it cranked and ran long enough to get home before it died again. It just ran out of fuel. The pump is running but sounds like it is about on it's last leg. Runs great when it does run. What do you think?

The fuel pressure on our FI cars needs to be up around 45 lbs. If your pump is not supplying that, you won't get a spray at the injectors.
Have you changed out your fuel filter lately?
