World's Fastest Indian
I went to see "The World's Fastest Indian" last night. If you get a chance to see this movie, go for it. True story about Burt Munro from NZ who took a 1920 Indian Scout to Bonneville in 1967 in an attempt to break the motorcycle speed record. It's a great story, and you don't have to be a gearhead to like it
I'm having trouble finding where it is playing. I saw an ad on TV during that big fancy football game today, but in checking our newspaper listings for movies, I see it playing in only 1 out of 130 theaters. Not a very big opening for this area, anyway. I'll give it a few more days. I don't really want to travel 30 miles to see a movie in a theater -- the ticket price is bad enough without out having to drive so far!!

I saw it at an AMC theatre, so I think it's in fairly wide release. My paper really doesn't cover Ventura, but it's listed in Thousand Oaks and the Cinearts Century in Ventura. Check it out at http://www.worldsfastestindian.com
just an update on the movie "World's Fastest Indian". I know few of you were able to see it at a theatre, but it comes out on dvd June 13th. Amazon is taking pre-orders for it, or urge your local video rental store to order a copy, you won't be disappointed! A bonus on the dvd is the original documentary that inspired the movie is included
I just saw it yesterday on DVD. It is a very good movie- held the interest of everyone at a friends BBQ (yes, even the wives).
Stars Anthony Hopkins as Burt Munro. May have stayed below the radar due to the subject matter, but it is not a "gear-head" movie per se. It is one that I will add to my collection- it's a decent movie, and the documentary is pretty interesting as well.
And it appears that his record still stands- he exceeded 200 mph back in 1967, and no-one has outdone it on a bike in that same size/class.
Here, I went looking for info and found this...
