Hello to all my fellow Fiat fans!!!!!!!
I fell in love with my first 79 Fiat Spider in my late teens and the romance lasted until some redneck in a F250 with God knows how many inches of lift backed over it in a parking lot and broke my heart... I'm now in my late 30's and I've been given permission by my wife to (cheat on her and fall in love all over again hehe ) buy a new 79 Spider, but unlike in my teens when I had to drive it as it was (not in too bad a shape and still a thrill) I plan to dip my new love in the fountain of youth and fix her up right. I look forward to talking to all of you and getting your tips and input on how to best go about it, and how and where to find all the cool stuff I will need.

Re: New Member From Calgary, Alberta
Best to you George, coming from here in Victoria, BC. Calgary is my home town and I still have lots of family there, including daughter and her family. I'll look forward to hearing about and seeing (photos) of what you end up buying, and perhaps I can appreciate your new love in person when I visit there!

Re: New Member From Calgary, Alberta
Hi George. Welcome again to the world of Fiats. As you might know this is an incredible place to find anything/everything Fiat. When the car is up and running come on down for a visit to this area, seems one in four are from Calgary and most of those have started wineries. I think Spring might be here next week.
Also good luck to the Flames, hope they have a good run this year.
Chris
PS there is an 81 spider in Kamloops for sale.(Kijiji) Looked at it couple of weeks ago, rough paint(20' job) and needing a few bits around the lights and some chrome(think I have parts from my parts car) but seemed ok mechanicaly, that is no oil drips and seemed to run fine. Did not take it out though. He wanted $2000. Oh yea seats, need redoing, and a top repair.
Don't know how much you want to fix up?
