Finally Got a Few Good Shots of My 73'
Hi Folks,
Well, after working everyday for almost 6 months on the full restoration of my 73' Spider, I've finally got a few good shots of the interior of the car. Since I've never seen any really good close-up shots anywhere on the Web or in any manuals I decided to do a few close-ups myself. (It just might help those of you out there in placement of a few things).
One quick question. Can anyone give me any info. on the rims I'm using. They came with the Spider when I bought it 7 years ago.
They were originally painted black and the small "socket" head bolts were made out of cromed plastic that were really falling to pieces. I popped out the plastic bolts and bought 80 stainless steel ones, had them buffed out, cut off the heads I needed and epoxied them into the cleaned out holes. I removed the old black paint and repainted them in the color of the car.
Check out the photos and let me know what you all think.

Drivers Side Wheels
Here you go.
I added the new shot to my folder in snapfish of the drivers side of the 73'. Both wheels are showing on the car. It's still not completely put back together yet (as you can see the new pass. side door panel is still not in place, door handles too).
I had to "PhotoShop" out the background because it was full of tables, tools and other assorted junk that took away from from all of my hard work over the months. Call it "Fiat Vanity" I guess.

Bad Link?
Hi,
I tried it myself and it works. But, I had to "log in" first before it let me in. I'll keep the link open and loged in so you can access it. Stupid computer stuff.

Finally Got it Right (I Hope)
After a little work I believe I've got the pics up and running at a different site that I found here at fiatSpider.
Try it out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2378846
I still need a little more info on the rims if anyone has it.
Thanks folks.

Color
Hi folks,
When I had the car prepped for paint I knew I wanted it red. I kept noticing this really cool red on a bunch of Ford vehicals on the road.
I went down to the local Ford dealership and looked up the color code.
"Toriador Red" it's called. Like the bull fighter. It has gold metalic mixed in with the burgandy red.
When you walk around the car in the sunlight the gold highlights the curves and contours of the car. Very cool look.
Thats why I buffed off the old pitted crome pieces down to the smooth brass underneath and polished it to look like gold too.
I think it was worth all the hours of labor to get it to sparkle like that.

Oh...Rear seat
I forgot to mention the seats
They were originally Fiat red and in like new condition. But were too orange red for the look of the car. I went down to the local auto paint supply store and bought several cans of SEM vinyl spray color to match the new vinyl door panels and rear panels covered with new vinyl. (It's not a paint, more like a stain and comes in dozens of colors).
All of the dash and consoles pieces were prepped and shot with SEM "Buckskin" color too.
This stuff is great. I used it on the car 6 years ago and all you have to do is wipe it off with a damp cloth and it looks new again. These colors are not cheap, around $14.00 a can, but I think the final results are worth it.
I never use any "Armoral" type products on the car. The silicon in it makes for all kind of problems with the paint job.
Hope this helps.

Very creative!
What a great use of color and finish.
Drop me an e-mail and I will tell you about someone who will be customizing a spider here in Texas and what that person intends to do. I think you will be interested. (It is not me. I have all but finished my '81).
