Today i've recieved the new diaphragms , as wel as the cover and they both installed , so no more fuell leak , jihaa
Not been able to drive couple weeks i've right away did a short trip , forgetting all about the other problem i didnt solve yet
Heating problem , dang ! So far i've replaced the radiator , all hoses , themostat , heater valve ....
did folluw up on Mike's cooling fill manual , drilled a tiny hole in the thermostat , replaced the colling tee with one that has a screw on top , and ordered and installed a flushing tee
After a 20 min drive seems like all hoses are emty and the expantion bottle is full. there's no pressure on the hoses as well
Any suggestions are welcome
It would be nice to have the problems solved before Alvon visits me , otherwise i have to put him to work

Tappy, it sounds like air is displacing the coolant in you system. Check for tight hose fittings on the suction side of your water pump (radiator hose and heater hose), and make sure you have a good fit on the gasket at the heater tube at the water pump.
It's also on the suction side.

Re: new topic old problem
Tappy, my car did the same thing. tried to bleed it every which way with no change. Mike's bleed tips seem very thorough, really should provide a void free fill I would think. I checked my heater pipe to waterpump connection on reccomendation from Ron with no luck. I guess it's possible to suck in air without the pressuized system leaking even a little coolant? I tried a pressure tester and even without the water pump creating any suction no leaks there to be seen. So since I was out of options, and the car had been overheated I suspected the head gasket and now the whole thing is apart. I know this is of no help to you, but I'm in the same boat so keep us posted.

Philip,
Are you sure that the T-stat is installed in the correct orientation? (Someone help out with some pictures of correct istallation, please -- I remember seeing some threads on this recently, with pictures). If istalled incorrectly, your symptoms would be possible.
I have the 13 psi radiator cap, and hood latch with me. Hope to see you next week. And I hope your wheels are rolling before then!!

If you don't have any pressure in the cooling system something is wrong with the cap or with the way it seals against the radiator neck. Figure out what's wrong there and then try it again.

Well a simple way to see if it is the cap is to take off the return line and see if you can blow through it! You should not be able to!
1978 Spyder 1800 make that 2L! Finally making real progress!

Re: new topic old problem
There are two different caps for 124 radiators. The early cap has @25mm/1" of depth and the later one was more nearly 32mm/1.25" as I recall. I don't remember the changeover year, but with the age of our cars and the replacement of parts an early could have been installed in a late and vice versa.
You can measure the distance on the radiator, measure from the top of the neck to the inside land of the inlet where the opening is to the radiator itself.
Often an early cap ends up being used on a late radiator and it ends up with no seal and lets the coolant vent our immediately to the overflow and keep no pressure. Due to the fact the top of the cap has a seal no coolant escapes from the cap itself at the radiator.
