Perplexed!

Post by MIGHTY 8 »

Hello to everyone who often finds themself in this same situation!

I've been experiencing recently a condition with my car where it begins to run roughly (sounding and performing as if it's missfiring) for a few minutes...then clears itself up! This may happen a few times during a days' drive.

Considering such basics in internal combustion engines such as air and fuel being essential ingredients and often the likely culprits in poor performance, why then, when this condition occurs, does shifting into neutral the engine then revs perfectally?

I don't understand in this case why a car being in gear (under load) does the engine malperform, and not while reving it in neutral?

To complete the story, I have dual carbs on this particular baby.

Thanks to all your inputs,

Gabriel
