help with weber dhsa!

i've got a dhsa3 in my '73 which i was in the process f rebuilding. i ordered the kit from iap and the float valve/fitting/thing that the needle slides in and out of has slots in the sides of it. the original doesn't have the slots. sooooo... can i use the new one, or should i leave the old one?

you can use the new one, it's designed for higher flow
