Extra Pulley?

Post by DougC »

This may be a dumb question, but my Spider has a pulley on the lower passenger side of the engine that has no belt on it. Can anyone tell me what that thing is?

Thanks,

Doug

an air pump that is not hooked up is nearly as good as a missing air pump. don't reconnect that air pump unless you wanna risk seizing your engine.

the 77 style air pump won't cause the engine to seize. It's the 75-76 style that is driven by the exhaust cam that can cause trouble. But, any air pump that is left undriven for a length of time is subject to seizing, thereby causing vee belt failure
