just got this 78 fiat spider with 1800 run pretty bad , put a timming light on and way off, had to turn 90 degrees clockwise runs great now but but wires to short wire outlets facing to pasenger fender also were can i get electronic ignition, how can i send a pic on this site, tried img and nothing happens

You can turn the dist. to a better position, just put it back in with the rotor and cap in the same relative position. You'll find that as the dist seats the rotor shaft will turn because of the helical gear, so putting reference marks on the base will help.

I would take the coil lead off and turn the car over till you are tdc.Might have to turn the engine by hand the last few degrees,just don't turn the engine backwards,the belt will likely skip on the cogs. you will see a hole on the back of each of the cam gears,these will/supposed to line up with a raised mark on the cam tower. Once you're there, take the dist cap off and see where the rotor is. should be real close to #4 outlet/lead,if not then pull the dist and turn rotor till it is close to the #4 lead. put back in. Cap back on,plate and 17 mm nut in place snug but not tight and give er a go,light should be on cyl. #4.
With the dist pointing backwards probably going to have to pull it.

so mark were my rotor pointing, pull distrib , then move it till its facing engine and retime
