new carb
new carb
Just got a new 32/36 DFEV for the '80 spider. Need a little help with knowing what to do with the extra lines that ran into the old carb. The black plastic box on the drivers side, far front is giving me some trouble. Where do these, what I assume are fuel lines, supposed to go. Also is it ok to just plug the emission lines no longer in use that run to the intake manifold. I suppose I should just be going with a 1800 intake manifold to simply the process, but would like to get this working for now.
Re: new carb
send me an email and i will walk you through the entire process.... especially if you are swapping the manifold out. there are many steps involved... some you know, some are not so blatantly obvious.
in short, all those old lines can be ignored or discarded. the only ports for the 32/36 DFEV are fuel intake and distributor vacuum.
however, you need to decide how to delete the coolant flow to the old water choke, and what to do about the exhaust gasses, and how to take care of the crankcase fumes. lots to think about. lots to learn.
the 1800 intake will not only simplify the process, it will also provide some performance boost of its own.
IMO, for a daily driver or a weekend cruiser, the 32/36 coupled with an 1800 intake is about PERFECT for the 2 litre Spider.
