I am preparing to remove the crank shaft bolt.
I ordered the 38MM socket, picked up a 5 ft breaker bar. Yeah, I hope that should be enough.
Do I need to do anything to keep the crank shaft from turning other than putting the car in gear?
Also, how do you guys remove the bolts on the other pulley's? I used a screwdriver to wedge under a bolt head and torqued against it. Is there a better method?
I'm having so much fun with this car already and I've only driven it home.

You can use a strap wrench or rag wrapped around the pulleys to hold them, I've never tried the crank bolt without an air gun, but i'ts given some fits. Set the e-brake and block the tires and give it a whirl with that giant breaker bar!

Re: Crank Shaft Bolt Removal
I just did mine using a chain wrench around the pulley. I tried putting it into gear with the ebrake on and one of the kids on the brakes but I found the clutch will slip. At the slow speed you are turning it there isn't enough friction to get the clutch to hold, even with a new / healthy clutch.
I used a relatively short breaker bar, maybe 2 foot ewith no problems, it only took minimal effort to break it loose once i had the pulley held with the chain wrench. I didn't try a strap wrench as I thought it might not be enough holding force but having now done it I suspect that also would have held the pulley tightly enough (versus the chain). Re-assembly was the same, chain wrench on pulley and shot breaker bar.
I used the same chain wrench on the water pump pulley and aux shaft gears to hold them as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this Zach.
I was wondering about the need for the chain wrench and the slip of the clutch. I'll pick one up.

i dunn recall seeing a 5 foot breaker bar before. that would require SOME tool box! guess i need to shop for one.
where'd you say you found a 5 foot tool box?

yeah, it's a special tool box. I'm worried I might flip the car over though if I use it.

Re: Crank Shaft Bolt Removal
The 5 ft breaker bar did the trick. The car wanted to lurch backward pretty good but didn't flip over like I thought it might.
I also had to put the car in 5th gear to get the clutch to hold, had it in second and it slipped too much. I still had to wind it up a ways before it would stop turning. I couldn't quite get the chain wrench to hold. I think I needed a larger one. Fortunate putting the car into 5th worked for me. getting closer to replacing the belt...
