WINTER is HERE in MN
WINTER is HERE in MN
Well its like 45 degrees from now until turkey day. then colder and colder and then a bit colder yet. So I got my Spider all cleaned up, washed, folded the top down and installed the hardtop and pulled the battery, Took a few photos of the car. then put the car cover on it. I won't see my own car until next April. Wow talking about depressing. I feel like I just lost a family member for 6 months. Its just sitting on my cememt patio in my back yard tucked up to the house all "coffin'd" up, probably wondering why I did this to it. Now I feel guilty working on my alfa romeo GTV6 in the garage while my Fiat sits ouside all covered up.

That's depressing! This morning it was about 5 C (40 F) and I saw snow flurries in the village. But I hope to enjoy one more month before parking the Spider. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a mild winter.

Re: WINTER is HERE in MN
We suffer here in Texas June-September, with really hot temps in the daytime (always above 90) with frequent rain, but get to enjoy those beautiful summer nights when it is 80 degrees at midnight! Perfect for a top down excursion. From September through May, the temps are nearly ideal for spider use, with a cold day in January rarely dropping below the high 20's in the Dallas area, and the upper 30's in the Houston area. Even then, it usually warms up to 50-60 degrees and beyond by midday, with relatively low humidity. Spent last night in the garage getting the spider ready for nearly daily drives!

We're finally getting perfect Fiat weather here in the southeast too. low 70's during the day with the leaves beginning to turn in a couple weeks. I've been exercising all three of mine!

Yep, our suffering is almost over. It's really getting nice here in Houston. Perfect weather for being outside. Especially in March and April - May is usually spent in horrid anticipation of June - August We get a lot more himidity here in Houston that those folks in Dallis. During the summers, the water temp in my swimming pool ranges somewhere between 86 - 94. And, I loose about 1/2 inch of water a day to evaporation.sptcoupe wrote:We suffer here in Texas June-September,

I guess you have to drink your beer out of the bottle or real fast out of the glass.katsi wrote:And, I loose about 1/2 inch of water a day to evaporation.
Weather here has been terrific. Up to last week daytime around 24-27 deg. cel (78-85 F) and has just cooled down at night. Still no rain and great top down in a T-shirt during the day.
I know,I know it will change...

Frost warnings and low of 30 tonight. We need gas guzzling cars to start heating our atmosphere again.

No salt for Michigan, State govenment needs to sell it to keep from shutting down!
Oil changed, Insurance dropped to storage, she is ready for a long nap. Sad.
But the race car will be out this weekend for the last race of the season.

It was in the mid 30s here in Northern Ohio overnight, but I drove mine to work today because it was sunny. It made it into the high 50s -- not warm enough to put the top down, but I'm still driving mine until the white stuff comes (won't be too long).

Re: WINTER is HERE in MN
Yeup it's changed.
Although there is fresh white stuff on the hills(at about 6800 feet) it was warm enought today for a top down run to an ice cream place down the valley.
Had a bit of a scare though.. I could hear a bit of a rattle so I put it up on a ramp when we got back and started to tighten the nuts holding the lower a- arm on,when the nut kept turning and then a small "clunk" The stud had come free from the support arm and slipped out a bit. Looks like a weld has broken. Jacked the lower arm up and the stud was lined up and then banged it back in place. Gonna get a welder to weld them all .
Great day never-the- less.
