Clutch Squeaking

Post by ralphcap »

When I engage the clutch on my '81 FI Spider it makes an annoying squeaking noise. I have lubricated the clutch joints inside the car and the springs on the clutch. Any other possibilities?

could be the cable binding in the sheath or the firewall creaking if it's beginning to crack

sometimes my clutch pedal cable groans, which becomes a case of grin and bear it... not much to do there.

but, yeah... check that firewall and the clutch pedal forks to be sure the firewall and the forks are not tearing

The last time my clutch startedto squeaked was about three days before the cable snaped. This would be a good time to order a new cable!!
