Antennae Removal

Post by dsnyder »

1978 Spider-

How do you remove the antennae? I looked int he trunk and I can see the pointy ends of the mounting screws. From the surface, outside there only appears to be a chrome plate. What is the trick to get to those mounting screws?

All Spider radios (and antennas) were dealer-installed, so there's no telling what's on your car. Post a couple of pictures if you can. Should you feel impatient, try prying off the chrome plate, and you might uncover the antenna's base, and the heads of those screws.

That chrome plate may also be what is securing the antenna too. You may be able to unscrew it.

I noticed little indentations and pried on it a little and it came right up. Thanks!
