Hi All,
I have an issue with my 79 Spider. I recently had it re-painted and added a couple of racing stripes down the center of it . Electrical was working fine went it went out for the paint job but now there is a bug.... The left and right directional lights work fine with the engine running and no headlights on but as soon as the headlights come on, the green directional arrows on the dash stop flashing but you can still hear the tick tock of the switch. Then after about 4-5 tick-tocks, it goes quiet. Does this sound like a ground issue?
When the car was painted, the bumpers, rear tail lights and side marker lights came off the vehicle. I cleaned up all of the grounds this weekend hoping that that was the case but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Check for some paint spray from the recent paint job in your connectors. Mine surffered from the same thing after a paint job.

Check the ground to the rear tail lights. I have a jumper wire I use with alligator clips to connect to the battery negative then the light housing or grounds and see if it works then.

Re: Blinkers on the Blink
Guys,
Thanks for all of the ideas. I cleaned up all of the grounds and still had the issue. So I disconnected all of the lights, cleaned the connections and connected them all back up. Lo and behold, the blinkers work! Either a dirty connection or a loose one.
Cheers.
