Light switch wire colors

Hope someone can help. I have no headlight switch on my '74. I can't even find the wiring block or harness for it. Anybody know what colors the wires are for the light switch? Maybe it's hidden behind the guages somewhere, but I can't find a thing. This car's electrical issues are driving me nuts and I can't find a diagram for a '74 anywhere. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks for the link but the wires in Mr. Artique's diagrams don't match the colors on mine. There appears to have been some multi-year donor car harness butchering over the years. I was able to trace back from the ignition swith to find the connector intact pushed back behind wires and against the firewall. Now i've got most lights but still no tail lights or blinkers....one day at a time. I need to take this thing to the Vatican and ask for prayer. Thanks for the help and I appreciate input from anybody.

Dacfan, according to my 74 wiring diagram, a white/black wire connects to terminal L, a black wire connects to terminal V, a thick green wire connects to terminal I and two wires, a thick light-blue and a brown wire connect to terminal H behind the light switch. I hope this helps a bit. JimmyG

Next winter I may do the entire wiring harness, but by then I think I will have rewired the whole car anyway so it will probably be a moo point. The PO did so much hack work that I've been undoing for a couple of years. I took it to a mechanic who told me the wiring diagram was less than helpful. I have slowly started to sort it all out, but what a pain in the ass.

Thanks so much for the help with the wire colors. Now I've got a better starting point. When I found the connector, some of the wires were missing. I'll keep digging until I get it all figured out. On a side note, I think I found what looks like rabbit crap up inside the dash.......Bigger than rat, smaller than cat...I have no idea what was living in this thing.
